Reality TV has been gracing/ruining/taking over our screens since circa 1989 with ‘Cops.’ Since then the list of reality TV shows has been increasing rapidly, with many, such as Kim Kardashian and family becoming household names due to their roles on ‘unscripted’ shows.
The latest arena to hit our reality TV screens is football, with new docu-drama ‘Played’ set to begin filming next month. The film will see Ashley Cole (yes… the Cheryl one) playing himself, alongside West Ham boss Sam Allardyce and England international Joe Cole. Ashley is also financially backing the project.
A source said: “The plot follows a football agent and how he goes about his business while living the Premier League lifestyle. It features a few dodgy scenarios including underhand transfers and sleeping around with different women.”
A number of the Hollyoaks ladies have already auditioned for parts as wannabe WAGs. And judging by the drama that weekly hits the headlines, acting the part shouldn’t be too much of a stretch for the likes of Ashley Cole.
